About The Bridehouse Bulimba
We are a boutique bridal studio in Bulimba, Brisbane, offering wedding dresses, bridal accessories and on-site bridal alterations in one welcoming space. Our role is to help you find a gown that feels right for you, and then make sure it fits beautifully for the way you want to look, move and feel on your wedding day.
What makes our boutique different is the way styling, design understanding and alterations come together under one roof. Some brides visit us at the very beginning of their dress search. Others already have a gown and need expert alterations, whether it was purchased from our boutique, another bridal store, online or second-hand. Wherever you are in the process, we aim to make it feel clear, supportive and beautifully considered.
Who We Are & What We Do
The Bridehouse Bulimba is a family-owned bridal boutique located at 4/37 Oxford Street, Bulimba, Queensland. We offer one-on-one bridal consultations by appointment, creating a more relaxed and thoughtful experience than the rushed or high-pressure environment many brides worry about.
Our boutique is led by a small, hands-on team, with each person playing a distinct role in the experience brides have with us. From your first enquiry through to your final fitting, you are supported by people who work closely together and understand how important every detail feels at this stage of wedding planning.
For some brides, that means finding the right gown from our collection. For others, it means refining the fit of an existing dress. We also offer Gabrielle Spencer Couture for brides looking for a gown designed and made just for them, with a small number of couture commissions accepted each year. Couture gowns start from $6,000 and are made in the atelier with multiple fittings and hand-finished details.

Director and Designer
MEET GABRIELLE SPENCER
Gabrielle Spencer leads The Bridehouse Bulimba as Director and Designer. She brings over a decade of bridal industry experience, along with a background in fashion design and a calm, thoughtful approach to helping brides feel confident in their gown. From the first appointment to the final fitting, her focus is on creating an experience that feels personal, supportive and beautifully considered.
Gabrielle’s design background shapes the way our boutique approaches silhouette, fabric, fit and movement. She is closely involved in the creative direction of the boutique and the overall customer experience, helping brides make choices that feel elegant, comfortable and true to them.
She also leads our couture offering. Through Gabrielle Spencer Couture, brides can commission a gown that is designed specifically for them, pattern-made to their measurements, fitted across multiple appointments and finished with couture techniques in the atelier.

BOUTIQUE MANAGER
MEET SHARYN PRICE
Sharyn Price is the Boutique Manager at The Bridehouse Bulimba. From the moment you enquire to the day you collect your gown, she is there to help keep the process running smoothly. She is the warm welcome at the door, the reassuring voice on the phone and the person making sure every detail falls into place.
Her role is an important part of what makes the experience feel calm and well-supported. Bridal appointments, ordering timelines and fittings can all feel like a lot to manage during wedding planning, and Sharyn helps create a sense of clarity and steadiness throughout that process.

HEAD OF ALTERATIONS
MEET ANNA EDMONDS
Anna Edmonds is Head of Alterations at The Bridehouse Bulimba. She brings over 30 years of bridal alteration experience and is the expert behind the perfect fit. Brides will most likely meet Anna during their final fittings, where her craftsmanship and eye for detail come through in the finishing stages of the gown.
Her role is especially important because a wedding dress rarely feels complete without the right fit. Hem length, bodice support, straps, shape and movement all affect how comfortable and confident a bride feels on the day. Having bridal alterations managed on site by an experienced specialist gives brides continuity and reassurance through the final stage of the process.

Our Real-World Experience
Our experience is built on real bridal appointments, real fittings and hands-on alteration work. At The Bridehouse Bulimba, that includes one-on-one bridal consultations, helping brides compare silhouettes, fabrics and styles in person, on-site alteration fittings and finishing work, support for gowns purchased from our boutique, support for dresses bought elsewhere, alterations for second-hand wedding dresses, and customisation and couture work.
Our team works across both dress selection and post-purchase fit, which gives us a practical understanding of what brides need at different stages of the process. We also guide brides on realistic timelines, with the boutique advising that it is best to allow around 10 months to order and alter a wedding dress, with some rush orders possible depending on the time of year.

Our Expertise and Bridal Approach
Our expertise sits across three closely connected areas: bridal styling, design understanding and technical alterations.
That means we can help brides with questions about which silhouette is most flattering, whether a fabric will feel right for a Brisbane wedding, whether a gown can be altered to sit properly, whether there is enough structure and support in the bodice, and whether a dress can be personalised without losing its original feel.
We do not see a gown as just a visual decision. It also needs to move well, sit properly on the body and feel right across the full day, from ceremony to reception. That is why fittings and alterations are such an important part of what we do.
Our collections also reflect a clear design point of view, with modern bridal gowns, structured silhouettes, minimalist lines and delicate textural details for brides who value elegance and a refined, understated look.

How We Work
We keep the process personal and appointment-based.
For bridal consultations, you book a one-on-one appointment and try on gowns in a private fitting environment, with guidance from our team as you explore different shapes, styles and finishes. For alterations, fittings are handled through our on-site workroom so there is continuity from the first fitting through to collection.
For couture brides, the process begins with a private consultation with Gabrielle, followed by design development, fabric sourcing, pattern-making, fittings and hand finishing. Only a very small number of couture commissions are accepted each year, depending on workroom availability.
Let's create something uniquely yours.
